A lightweight ELN + LIMS for research labs
Your whole lab,
finally in one place.
An electronic lab notebook alongside protocols, samples, inventory, ordering, scheduling, and team chat — working together. Finish a protocol and your inventory updates itself.
Cancel any time · your data exports whenever you want
Built to be trusted with your lab's data
🔒
Isolated per lab
Row-level security means one lab can never see another’s data. Everyone gets their own login.
🇺🇸
US-hosted & encrypted
Encrypted in transit and at rest, on Supabase, Vercel, and Stripe — infrastructure you already trust.
📤
Your data is yours
Export inventory, samples, protocols, and the audit trail to CSV, PDF, or calendar any time. No lock-in.
🕓
Full audit trail
An immutable, timestamped record of every action — the chain of custody regulated work needs.
The feature that sets LabOps apart
Finish a protocol. Your inventory updates itself.
Log a completed run and the exact reagents it used are deducted from inventory automatically — then the run is logged with exactly what it used, the calendar updates, and low stock is flagged. No chat app or spreadsheet does this.

Up and running in an afternoon.
No IT project, no implementation consultant, no per-seat negotiation. Three steps and your lab is working in one place.
1
Create your lab
Sign up, name your lab, and you’re in — no credit card to explore. You become the PI with full control.
2
Invite your team
Share one access code and the whole lab joins with their own logins. You set who can do what by role.
3
Work in one place
Load your reagents, protocols, and samples — then run a protocol and watch inventory, the calendar, and the audit trail update themselves.
Thirteen modules. One workspace.
Everything a lab needs, designed to work together.
📊 Dashboard
The moment you log in, see what needs attention — low stock, open tasks, recent runs, the week ahead.
🧪 Inventory
Track every reagent and instrument with quantities, locations, and expiry. Automatic low-stock flags.
📋 Protocols
Versioned, step-by-step methods with linked reagents. Every run logged with who, when, and what.
⚗️ Experiments
A dated electronic-notebook entry for every run — link the protocol and samples, write it up, attach your data.
🧫 Samples
A full record and chain of custody for every sample — storage, freeze/thaw cycles, lineage, and QR labels you scan with your phone.
🛒 Orders
Request supplies and track them from approval to received — received items flow into inventory, with spend tracked by grant.
📁 Projects
Group work into projects and sub-projects with timelines, status, and their own parameters — then assign the tasks inside each one.
🔬 Equipment
Book shared instruments with live scheduling and overlap warnings — no more double-booked confocal.
🕓 Activity
An immutable, timestamped record of everything that happens across the lab — the audit trail regulated work needs.
How we compare
The right amount of software.
More capable than spreadsheets and a group chat. Simpler and far more affordable than an enterprise LIMS.

|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | Hidden time cost | $$$$ + per seat | $50–$100 flat |
| Time to set up | Instant but chaotic | Weeks, with a consultant | An afternoon |

Onboard rotating students in minutes with role-based access, versioned protocols they can follow step by step, and a shared calendar the whole class can see.
Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions.
What’s the difference between an ELN and a LIMS — and which is this?
Both, lightly. An ELN (electronic lab notebook) is where you write up experiments; a LIMS (lab information management system) tracks samples, inventory, and workflows. LabOps Lite gives you a lightweight version of each, connected — so your notebook, samples, and reagents all talk to each other.
How is this different from a big enterprise LIMS?
Enterprise systems are powerful but cost thousands, take weeks to implement, and are priced per seat. LabOps Lite is built for academic and small labs: set up in an afternoon, one flat price for the whole team, and only the features a working lab actually uses.
Is my lab’s data secure and private?
Yes. Every lab’s data is isolated with row-level security, everyone has their own login with role-based permissions, and everything is encrypted in transit and at rest on US-hosted infrastructure (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe). You can export everything at any time — no lock-in.
How much does it cost?
Two flat plans: $50/month for a PI plus up to 5 members, or $100/month for unlimited members. Every feature is included in both — you choose by team size, not by feature tier.
